  • Takeru

hahaha! sorry. i can take things like that a lil far =) Ah, during the shoot, that i was on tonight, one of the actors was watchin the Lakers/Suns game -- who won it? the moment i saw it on the television i thought of you; i was like: hmm... i know for sure she's doing nothing but watching the game right now... and maybe homework. lol

  • Jen

Good lord i had to read ur comment like 3 times to get it thru my head and understand LOL

  • Takeru

LOL damn. no love for the WAH. =(

u see?! u can empathize with me, then! i knew u knew what i knew was the worse feeling known to man when it came to knowing that ur television didn't know how to change channels fast enough -- unknowingly pissing off its owner.

    LOL damn, i'm good. =P

  • Jen

shhhh its not the wrong site!!!!! lolll =P

my tv does that 1 second thing too...its like okkkkk any day nowwwwww

  • Takeru

no not really. but okay, get this, like i said before, my tv doesn't have an actual cable box but it shares the line with another tv. So i can't program the tv to act like it has a box and just change to a 355 channel -- my tv's a tard. I'd have to punch in 54-11 or something and the second set of numbers can go up to 40's, so i can never remember a set of four numbers u know? lol and plus, since the channels are digital, the damn thing takes like a second to find the signal for each channel. it doesn't load instantaneously -- i hate it! i wish i just had basic cable at times. i miss the fast channel surfing. =( and quit makin' fun of me. haha

  • Jen

Hahaha guess you nevr got a chance to be all that familiar with your own tv. :p

even though we have learned a thing or two about each other recently, the man's still a bit of a mystery to me. I think it's an asian thing -- keeping a lot of yourself for yourself and not opening up to your children as much. Kinda sucks, if u ask me. =( I'm still gonna bother him about stuff, though, till i get the answers i want lol.

  • Takeru

ah that's nice. my dad's a way serious dude but sometimes he has his wild and crazy moments. almost bipolar in a way when it comes to his seriousness and his fun-ness. i cant see it coming at times lol

oh, ok so he did get to see the country, even for a bit. sweet. ur dad sounds like a funny guy lol

    last month

  • Jen

I think he did take a lil tour of the area. Cuz he had to stick around there for a couple hours or so, so ya..

    last month

LOL oooh! so that's y he's got a fond for the airports! hahaha so he never actually been in the country except for the airport??? i know there's an airport just outside Tokyo. Anyway.. everything's clear to me, now. lo siento lol

  • Jen

I don't remember. I dont think it was Tokyo...maybe it was. Who knows. He went there en route to Vietnam. Plane stopped in Japan before heading to Vietnam.

  • Takeru

LOL I wanna hear it out! i can't wait to go to Cali now. haha i dunno y this excites me so much. guess cuz i've never heard Mexicans say it before. We have quite a bit here in NYC but i never heard them utter wey before. Uh uh, no wey. LOL okay, that was bad. sorry. i know u don't drink but would there by any cool wine shops that u know of there? LIke trader joes or something?

    last month

  • Jen

yah i hear it alot here haha. some people use it every frick in sentence of theirs that they say

porque weyyy....que paso weyyy ay weyyy lol

    last month

  • Takeru

LOL yeah i get them fast speakers too. i try to hold back from laughter after they said a mouthful and all i reply back with it 'lo siento, pero no hablo espanol' hahaha okay, i'm not that cruel. that's cool that u picked up on some of the PR dialect, but like u said, it kinda played against u now in Cali with the Mexicans and their own dialect lol. Athena taught me that word they say a lot.. um.. wey. I think that's how u spell it. Wuddup, wey. KNow what i'm talkin' about? Hope u pick up on some of the mexican!

    last month

  • Jen

people have come up to me and start talkin in spanish all fastttt. And I do fairly understand haha. But it's like oooook how do i say this hahaha. After working a lot with artists in Puerto Rico, I've gotten used to the Spanish language from PR, and not Mexico. And there's a lot of Mexicans in CA. it's weird. haha. I undrstand the slangs and stuff from PR, whereas with Mexico, I don't. =(

    last month

  • Takeru

haha me too really but the difference between u and me is that I am part hispanic! i don't speak much but i always have old hispanic people coming up to me and asking me questions in super markets or at the bus stop. one time, this old woman kept talking to herself sitting at the bus stop but i had on my ipod. When i took them off, i realized she was talking to ME. haha

"lo siento, pero no puedo hablar mucho." haha but then i think she was convinced that I could speak and she said something along the lines of 'yes of course you can speak, just listen to you.' I just gave up lol. ever had a moment with a hispanic person before like that one?

    last month

  • Jen

Haha i'm mistaken for a hispanic ALOT. Everywhere I goooo. haha. i do know some spanish, but in the end, last time i checked I dont have any Spanish blood in me.. =P

  • Takeru

goodness, a pool of grease; that's appetizing! yum! haha jk jk that's the one thing i don't like about pizza. well, who does, really? u have to be one crazy mo fo to love the pizza for its oil spillage lol.

that's good that u have that kind of intolerance or, dislike, rather, for alcohol. u live longer without it anyway =) No lie, though, for a moment, i mistaken u for a hispanic and i was gonna ask you if u ever drank coquito before lol I know u're not hispanic though, but my bad! =/

    last month

  • Jen

Hahaha no influence will take effect on me. I hate alcohol. Hate the smell. Hate the taste. Always will. Almost all my friends drink and stuff.

And yes cold pizza is better than no pizza. unless theres a pool of grease on it. Omg ew its disgusting jsut thinking about it =|

    last month

  • Takeru

LOL i dunno... that pie was sitting for more than a couple of hours. I think it was dead cold by the end of the night haha Still cold pizza is better than no pizza, am i right? u don't like alcohol?? ah, well u're underaged, so i understand. i'm not into the hard stuff any more. jack and coke is good. okay, i gotta stop! i don't wanna wrongfully influence u or anything! =P haha

    last month

  • Jen

crap if i was homeless, i'd take that pizza right away =] pizza keeps meee warm woo! haha. but then again who knows...im not homeless and i HATE alcohol, so...

    last month

  • Takeru

LOL that's a funny sign! i offered up a whole pie cuz i was on a music video shoot and we had a more than a couple of pies left over. After taking taking back equipment to the truck i noticed the homeless guy just sitting there and i ask him if he wanted something to eat, that i have a whole pie. He just looked at me with a blank stare and goes 'got any liquor instead?' lol we had champagne for the shoot but that was all guzzled up before the end of the night. haha a lot of homeless people prefer alcohol anyway cuz it keeps them warm. i never really got that till that night.

    last month

  • Jen

Dont think I've seen the zombie ones... lol. Dont think I even want to. Haha. But why whole pizza? =( Heh that reminds me... when we were in San Francisco, we were walking towards the Pier 39 and this homeless dude was sittin on the streets and had a cardboard sign that read I NEED MONEY FOR ALCOHOL! BULLSH!T - WHY LIE!

    lolllll.

    last month

  • Takeru

LOL that sounds all too familiar. Homeless people here r pretty crazy too. i've seen some crazy enough to have built a small little room on a subway car and sleeping soundly through rush hour lol then there was this one guy who totally rejected my offer of a WHOLE pizza pie and asked if i had any alcohol instead. crazy... then there are the good ones who seem happy. but that's pretty crazy to begin with. lol and then there are the crack heads walking around the morning after, looking like zombies. ever seen that before??

I wanna go to SF nowww... haha. People there are just extremely nice. Alot of crazy homeless people, but no big deal I guess, cept this one time i went to one of these starbucks in SF and i came out and this homeless crazy lady went up to me screaming and callin me I am the devil or something like that. And oh - my parents were standing right there too. =] Hahaaaa.

  • Takeru

yeesh. that's a long ass ride. but i guess i'll be expecting that if i'm gonna head over to SF. Hopefully the train's a lot quicker 0_o *crossing fingers* Ah. i like train rides though. I hear SF's pret-ty awesome. there was a huge WeAreHapa meetup there not too long ago.

hahaha i know, i hear that a lot too, especially here in NYC. but that sounds like a great place to go. I've never been there and would love to visit PR. My friend keeps telling me how awesome it is over there.

NY! Yes! lol For me, it would have to be Cali. i'm planning to head over to LA/SF in March after my birthday. Hopefully my best friend can tag along. I've never been to Cali so i'm psyched just thinking about it.

Out of the country right? Ehhh I would say Puerto Rico but people always arguing that it counts as United States. <.< I know it's US Territory and all...anywhooooo

    France would be nice :D

Now if it was within the states - New York first! hands doooown

    last month

  • Takeru

haha do u have a place in mind where u'd like to go see first?

  • Takeru

ah. i guess i can understand the concerns for letting their underaged daughter travel. but hopefully they'll let u walk through some of those doors soon, no? lol

    last month

  • Jen

Havent been out of the country. =( *sniff* I had gotten so many invites and stuff to reggaeton invites within Puerto Rico, but having strict parents - not allowed to go. =[ Ehhhhh someday someday Hahahaa.

Havent done any work for any of the DJ Kings, let alone ever heard of them.

    last month

  • Takeru

oh wow. that's pretty extensive! have u done any work for any of the DJ Kings? My friend knows a few of them and we've done a couple of promo vids and a fashion show featuring one or a few DJ Kings; all in Jersey. I wouldn't think it has yet, but has ur job taken you to other parts of the country in person?

    last month

  • Jen

To make long story short - it all started with a group of local artists in Virginia. Did alot of stuff for them. Then I expanded through their affiliates in DC, NY, and such. Then some DJ from NJ/Puerto Rico came across my MySpace page and it went from there. He helped me expand all the way down to Puerto Rico. =] So I've done work for some great reggaeton artists =D

    last month

  • Takeru

lol i bet it did. how did u get into contact with artists here on the East Coast and in Puerto Rico? That's pretty cool that ur first set of contacts are this far out from your local area. Kudos for that.

As for that dude... hmm, can't figure that one out lol guess it was chance, especially since he offered u this job opportunity. It's great that u feel that way; that u're enthused. Keep it goin! do u have any other interests besides the web design career?

    last month

  • Jen

The creepy feeling definitely sunk in. It came from the shock I was in. hahaha. Because I never knew that my business would ever be that known here in Orange County and all. i did work for one local artist here, but the guy didn't know who that artist was. If he is a fan of Skin Industries clothing, then he probably might've known me from there because I've designed the official mySpace page. =] Other than that, I really dont know how he knew of Flow Designz... creepyish. Haha.

Gosh I was thinking of the job for so long. from when he offered to like now. And i finally sent off an email to him that I'll take up the job. Should be good. Finally do something for those within my area. Because almost all my clients are from the East Coast & Puerto RIco. I been wonderin when the heck I'll get good exposure in the local area. And I feel this could be my chance =]

    last month

  • Takeru

LOL that's some story there! how creeped out did you get? did you take the job offer? there was this one time someone recognized me and approached me to say hi. I was pretty dumbfounded cuz i never saw her in my life but then she said she saw me in pics from her friend's facebook photos. u can say i was kinda surprised. and yes.. that creepy feeling kinda sunk in a lil.

internet can be a scary place lol. but that's cool that u're relatively 'known'. have u worked on something for someone he knows in the past?

    last month

  • Jen

haha my mom was the oldest. my dad was second youngest...

oh man some weird stuff happened today. i went to this store that does car decals, etc. and this guy in there was all HEY! I know you!

Now it's scary...whennn someone knows you but you dont know them. Hahaha.

So i asked how does he know me, and he said from Flow Designz! I was shocked because I'm not really all that known here in Orange County, so it was so odd. I mean come on...i didnt think my face would be stuck in someone's memory bank either hahaha.. sooo strange. He offered me a job for his company..

    last month

  • Takeru

lol ahh same here! life's hard when u're the oldest especially when both ur parents are the babies amongst their siblings. they just never understand... haha

  • Jen

    first born child. woo!

Fullerton is within the city. =]

    last month

  • Takeru

lol they didn't approve, eh? i can understand that. u must be their first-born or only child then, right? did u look at any schools over here before u told them ur interest? is CSU Fullerton in a city or just outside of one?

    last month

  • Jen

I believe Berkeley is still a great school =]

I was actually thinking of coming to the East Coast to attend college but my parents didn't approve of it =[ Oh well. I don't live far from CSU Fullerton anyway. It's a great university anyway. I attended the Senior Day event there and it's quite an amazing place. =]

    last month

  • Takeru

wow. curiosity really shot u forward, yeah? that's amazing. u shoulda came out here to the east coast for Graphic Design schools. We've got plenty of great schools for that. My dad went to Berkley to study graphic design after studying in Japan. Don't know how Berkley is right now but at the time, it was a pretty good school. good luck with it all. i hear it's very challenging but also very rewarding.

    last month

  • Jen

Wow i really dunno haha. I just know it all started with my dad asking how you do those graphics you see all over the web and I became pretty curious =]

And yah i'm planning on turning it into a career. I'll be majoring in graphic art design next fall at Cal State University of Fullerton Woot woot

    last month

  • Takeru

aww sorry to hear that. but i'm glad u still have a bit of that enthusiasm for ur business, enough to drop prices. what got u interested in doing design? i suppose u're gonna develop it into a career?

    last month

  • Jen

Things have been going pretty slow. =( Hardly any requests as of lately. And some people have said my prices are too high =\ Soooo in spirit of the holiday season, I'm going to be cutting prices by 50% with special deals, and see how business is for this. =]

u have a pretty cool site! very cool that u upstarted ur own company. how's it going so far?

    last month

  • Jen

Haha Well u know...the thing is - I believe as you get older you sort of lose interest in the "i want this for christmas" thing. I know I've lost interest. Sure I still want gifts for Christmas. But anything nice is fine. Though this year I'm dying for the Lakers Christmas Game Tickets hahaha. =P

  • Takeru

oh wow, all the power to ya! i know some peeps who do it and have done it for so long now, i just don't have that kind of ability to control the anxiety lol I've seen Jingle All The Way one too many times that it convinced me to stay away from crazed holiday shopping. sucks that nothing got ur fancy this year. i would've gone for a digi cam or something. i'm not into the whole 'what gift i want for christmas' thing anymore than i used to. i just love being around my friends and family during that time of year =) i did accompany my friend as she shopped the city for some clothes; that was fun. kinda had to walk around anyway from eating so much the night before =P

Oh I usually am into the Black Friday thing Haha. Just not this year cuz alot of the stuff on sale to me are just ...stuff. lol. In the past i'd go crazy. Gotta go to this store then that store, and then this store after...etc etc. This year was just quite boring. Oh well

    last month
