I can see how people would go with Japanese in terms of the name. I mean it's not even close but obviously you have yuri and yana. Yana not so much but "ana" is common in the ends of Japanese surnames so yea. Etymology is the best thing ever, it single-handedly helped me on my SATs. Thank goodness for freshman year English.
Listening to music is underrated, people these days use music in conjunction with something else but it's definitely nice to just sit back and put on an album (even better some vinyl) and just listen. Dancing always works too, whether it's in the car or the club lol. Yep producer and composer, sounds awesome, difficult lifestyle. Piano was definitely my life growing up although because I produce and compose as opposed to perform and practice repertoire, I think the 16 year old version of me would just laugh at my technique these days.
Thanks :) LOL. A lot of people think it's a Russian or Eastern European name too. Some people think its Japanese as well. It's actually a rare Indonesian name/surname! I have no idea what it means though :| My favourite part about studying Linguistics would definitely be etymology. Yeah, I know what you mean, there are so many different sub-fields of linguistics - it can get really tedious.
So, your a producer and composer? That must be awesome! Other than listening to music, I'm kinda music impaired. I used to play the piano though - lol, then again which asian parent doesn't make you play it?!
Hey Yuriyana! Welcome to the site =) Hope you're having fun checking out what we have on here and if you have any questions feel free to hit me or any of the other site leaders up. We are always happy to help! You definitely have a unique name, Yuriyana would have made me guess Russian or Eastern European of some sort. Linguistics eh? I took that as a my final General Education requirement in my time at University and that was the hardest class of my life. Phoneme's can suck it. Anyhow, hope you're having a great start to your week! Cheers!
