Kip Fulbeck's Hapa Project

Kip Fulbeck's Hapa Project and book, Part Asian 100% Hapa, has made headlines over the last few years bringing the hapa identity and issues to the limelight.  His work has been the topic of conversation on such media outlets as CNN, MTV and PBS.  For many Hapas all over the world, his work has inspired thought about self identity and "hapa pride" in ways it never had before.

Hello everyone!  I'm a hapa who was raised in Japan and Kentucky (strange combo, I know) and have made my home in NYC for the last four years.  I love living here because there are so many hapa to meet and incredible opportunities getting involved in the multiethnic community.

Could you help me drum up some support for Loving Day from friends, family, fellow hapa, etc?  Loving Day is an educational organization that spreads the word about hapa/multiethnic folks like us.

We're involved in this contest that Pepsi is holding and we're in the running for a $25K grant to throw the largest multiethnic festival in the world, the Loving Day Flagship Celebration.

Please visit http://bit.ly/aBoObt and click "Vote for this idea." Spread the word!

We need your help!  We started out in the competition in the top 10 spot and now our rank is slipping.  We need to get back into the first ten positions to win the grant so we can continue the Loving Day Celebration.

Celebrate multicultural community with a diverse educational event. | Pepsi Refresh Everything

Vote for the most refreshing ideas to win Pepsi Refresh Project grants for Arts and Culture

Thanks so much fellow hapa!  Let's tell the whole world about hapa pride! 3 weeks ago.

Kip is AMAZING. He was my UCSB professor when I took his spoken word/performance art class. His book, Paper Bullets, is really good - I highly recommend it! The best memory I have: I performed spoken word with 9 other Cali Hapas at the opening of his Hapa Project exhibit at the Japanese American museum in Los Angeles, CA. It was like the biggest hapa gathering I'd ever seen! At least 500 hapas in the audience.

I met Kip when he spoke at a high school here in LA for his latest book on tattoos and identity. My friend interviewed him for her research paper. His work is great.
