hey! if i do go to korea...i want to try and live in seoul....though there is a school i am looking at that is a bit outside of seoul....kinda where i lived last year....but anyways....looking at jobs! hopefully we can meet up! that would be awesome:)
i'm still here, still in fukuoka, still working at my friend's parents's shop, i just started to look for another job now i'm adjusted to my new j-lifestyle. still looking forward to welcome u in my tiny apt ;)
NYC sounds good as well!! when do you plan to move? Would it be Seoul if you'd chose Korea?
dude...how's it going? update? lol...i am in ohio visiting a friend and deciding my next move...really torn between korea one more time....or just go to nyc! what is going on with you?
hey emma! how are things?? i am still in process of looking for a job in korea...going to try and get something outside of teaching...we will see though......and in the korean language there are alot of letters that kinda blend like b/p l/r g/k t/d and others...so thats why you see busan or pusan....the koreans usually say it more with b emphasis the foreigners usually use p......anyways you must give me an update!
Ninachan! How have you been? heading back to the "morning calm" country soon? I'll prolly be visiting Pusan (Busan? which one is the true name?which one is the japanese pronunciation?) for my bday (around late jan) gotta meet & hang!! but you're also more than welcome to my place dudette!
have a safe trip! by the time you read this you will probably be there already...will you living in the same place as you did before?.....---->annndd will you have a layover in seoul?? time to look around seoul? anyhow !!!
lucky!!!! hmmm keep me updated ....and next time i order books i am going to order that french author we discussed awhile back ....i keep forgetting but i am going to do! so when do you speculate you will be back in japan?
how long do you think you will stay in japan? as for me....my plans....i think is to stay in so cal until after the elections...and do one more contract in korea.....after that not too sure lol....how have you been? and glad you had fun in london!
salut Nina! London was really cool :) i'm currently waiting for a few documents from japan (well from the japanese family) to get a visa to return to japan, hopefully at the end of the month... what are your plans?
hey lady! how are you? and you are correct...not in korea at the moment.....got home about two weeks ago.....how was your trip? what have you been up to?
haahah well same with me and france! someday somehow i will go there!!!!! and japan too, though this is more likely since i will do another contract in korea. lol.
and yeah money is a pain. well i am going to thailand for sure....and maybe japan. i have a plane ticket that the school will give me....but i dunno maybe i will go back to cali for a bit and then come back....hard to decide! sucks! hate it!! lol
haha funny you say that...cuz i was going to say you looked like her...but then i thought am i just thinking that cuz she is french? but i think you do look slightly like her....but perhaps it is your style as well....and ugh katherine heigl...to be honest i dont find her pretty. she looks alot like britney spears as well. but yeah just interesting. and travel! aaaah so fun.
I'm not the biggest fan of K.H. neither but she's pretty! I'm often told I look like Audrey Tautou (you know, Amelie) though I don't think I look like her at all! We're just both french and yeah you're right it doesn't matter! I'd love to travel more before going to jpn but i'd love to see tons of asia as well! especially malaysia... :) money, i need money. Where do you plan to go besides japan?
yeah i know what you mean about wanting to travel everywhere! and again and again.....and i don't doubt that paris is cool! i've been wanting to go for ages now......i will get there someday! thats for sure.....and lol really you think in this pic i look like K.H.? i could maybe see it in the other one....but still haven't figured out of katerine heigl is a good thing.....but i guess thats cuz i'm not a big fan of hers. but does it matter? no! just interesting to see who or what people think you look like. hmmm so do you think you will travel anywhere else soon?
Hey Nina! long time no talk, ça va? I went to Stockholm for visiting, the flight tickets were so cheap. Amazing country & friendly ppl... I want to visit Norway now :) you look like k.heigl on this new default pic as well; you're a cutie on the other ones. Actually Paris's a cool place (about your comment on my pic) but... AAAH feel like travelling abroad again & again :)
yeah a japanese friend of mine visited me and her father might have a job for me as he's looking for a frenchy lady speaking japanese :) in fukuoka on september. things turned bad w/my boy so i guess i'll return to japan on my own. Plus i have a few friends in fukuoka to support me the first few weeks.. and being single rules.
hey ! sorry took long to respond...but so glad u had fun in germany.....and nope havent started any of his novels....it might be hard to find in korea...i will try though...or i will amazon it.....and katherine heigl!! hahhahaha i will have to post other pictures...i think i only look like her in that pic.....i will try and put some up later....and travel! i so agree!!! i totally agree with travelling by yourself but wanting to travel with others....and expierences! you should def. explore!! i would explore with you in september! hahha but i am sure you have a job and all that....my contract ends at the end of july...then travelling southeast asia for like a month....but still have a plane ticket to somewhere....before i get another contract...anyways whats your deal with japan? any progress?
damn my msg has been cut! your euro trip seems to be such an experience, i wish i could have at least A friend like you here in france, i like to travel alone but sharing good memories w/ a friend's pretty cool as well. french girls talk and talk but never act. too bad: there's so much to explore!
hey nina! long time no talk! hope everything's alright! i second the comment below, but i already wrote you that (the KHeigl thing ;)
I'm back from Germany which was awesome! I mini toured w/ the band of a friend of mine, just went black! i've been in the north, east and south! Have you started any romain gary novels? actually i only red 2 of them, "promise at dawn" (i think in english) is one of the best books i've ever red! the story w/ his mother (yay nina :)) then i red his real biography and yeah pretty exciting life! i love books too
i did like the back packing thing but not exactly...i used prague as my homebase and lived there for like a year....so my travelling was more countries around the czech republic....what american authors do you like? i will have to check out the french author you like....i like louis ferdinand celine and dumas....i really liked the book perfume but was written by a german author but takes place in paris....anyways i love reading about france so will have to check out more books and authors....books! i love em.
waw! you've visited much more of europe than i did! i'm jealous ;)
about french literature: romain gary is the man! i'm more into japanese & american literature though!
i am curious about your boy story...send me a message if you have time.....as for me i have been to germany, ireland, england, austria, czech republic, bulgaria, poland, liechtenstein, slovenia, and bulgaria....really want to go to france/italy/spain....i hope you make it over soon! do you like any french authors?
yay thx! i'd really love to visit South Korea! i'll probably live w/ my boy, we'll see, it's a bit complicated and I'll try not to return to France before a while! i'll keep you informed for sure as soon as i'm ready to host friends! yeah you're right travelling is so exciting, actually i'll spend a few days in germany next week to visit a (german) friend of mine. About Europe I already went to.. Belgium, Spain, England, Eire, Greece, Czec Republic, Netherlands.. and Germany soon for the 1st time :) what about you? Do you sometimes get homesick?
lol...low english level? your writing seems pretty fluent to me! i am always so jealous of europeans because they always know a lot of languages....anyways that would be so awesome to visit in japan! and the same invite is welcome to you ...if you ever want to visit korea....once i settle into my second contract....if you go back to japan...will you live with family or on your own? how long do you plan on staying? anyhow travelling is so exciting! have you travelled much of europe?
Thank you :) pfiou! I worried about my low english level! the wind up bird chronicles's my fav as well! Banana Yoshimoto's pretty good too.
Yeah I'm planning on returning to Japan this summer, if you were thinking about going to Japan on late august you'll have a place to stay :) I've never been to Hokkaido yet but I'll probably spend a few days in Sapporo this summer (can't wait!!) How's life in South Korea?
omg your response was like the best one i ever got! lol i love long responses...so yay! so much good info i will have to look into it....i am into japanese lit but only read the first author you mentioned...i kinda like the pop fiction authors like haruki marukami (mainly the wind up bird chronicles)....the dude that wrote battle royale.....banana yoshimoto.....and i read some kobe abe though i dont think he is as current.....have yo uever been to hokkaido? hmmm i am doing southeast asia with a friend this summer but i will probably do japan as well solo....so good stuff to know....when will you visit japan next?
thank you :)
There are maaany famous places where I've never been in Japan (like Kyoto) so I can only speak about the places I know. If you're down with very crowded places Tokyo is THE place to be. The last time I went to Shibuya I wanted to escape far far away from this district.. (but night time is nice!) There's one district in Tokyo I love, it's called 'Daikanyama' lots of tiny (and trendy) shops & coffee shops everywhere. There's so much to explore :) Then you have those famous districts, Harajuku, Akihabara if you want to see crazy japanese kids, Asakusa to take tourist-pics... A bit far from Tokyo there's Nikko for its beautiful landscapes and Kamakura for that huge famous Buddha statue... As my family's from Kyushu, I can only recommend you this island (hehe), Nagasaki's (architecture, atmosphere..) a bit different, because back in the days, the first foreigners came by its port so it's a bit less "typically Japanese" and also for the atomic bomb I think (I've never been to Hiroshima so I can't compare). My family's from Kumamoto, I wouldn't recommend you the city because there's not that much to do (except if you like japanese literature, if so, there are Natsume Soseki & Lafcadio Hearn houses) but in the prefecture of Kumamoto there's a place called Aso where there's the largest active volcano in Japan, it stinks a bit but it's worth visiting it! Castles are impressing as well but it would have been more impressing if they were not 100% renovated.. Food's also good in Kyushu & if you become allergic of Tokyo's concrete, Kyushu's nice for its nature.. What else.. I didn't like Osaka that much... I also love Sendai (north Honshu) & Fukuoka (Kyushu) but if you plan to just visit japan (and not to live in japan) I'm not sure these places are exciting for tourism :) oh except Fukuoka (prefecture) islands, seems like there are tons of beautiful beaches there... Moreover Fukuoka/Busan (south Korea ;)) only takes 2 hours by hydrofoil! I almost forgot: I've never been to Okinawa but I'm sure this place rocks: my brother showed me his pix the beaches are sooo beautiful! And now he wants to move there! (sorry for the looong msg!)
