Hapa heaven? Please enlighten me where that is haha, I've been trying to meet hapas for at least a year and have been totally unsuccessful in SF. I get the feeling that at least 99% are not very interested in meeting or are very apathetic.
On the other hand Kenji, if an event were in the East Bay, would you be interested in attending? Takeru, I've never been to New York so can't be of much help there. =)

Heya... You should post a definite date as soon as possible!!! If it's November, just remember there is a Turkey Day event that most of us REAL Americans celebrate. Kiwi mentioned that we're good to go for Friday 21st November - I will look into a cool place with good music and potentially slide a little Karaoke in there for good measure - are there any DJs amongst us that would wanna play a short set??? Just a thought...I see Carlos has decks in his pic...Also if any SF residents have some thoughts on venues/general activities go ahead and suggest!

I suggest playground at jtown. its a korean drinking spot/restaurant with full bar and lots of soju. There is also karaoke upstairs for those wanting to go dumb on the mic.

Honolulu has so many hapas and somewhat mixed (semi-hapa) people that other folks (and other hapas too) will think you're crazy to have a hapa meet here. :-P4 months ago

When was the last time any of you non-Hawaii residents were in Honolulu? Being "in" Honolulu is like having a Hapa Party in itself. You can see dozens of hapas in one day if you try hard enough. I even got hit on by a gay hapa guy a couple months back. :-/4 months ago

Time consuming...shime shomsuming...(whoa that was a bad attempt at rhyming), and no (that's not a japanese word), haha ;) Dammit Venus you're gonna have to get your small aircraft license and fly you're single engine Cessna to Hawaii...you'd have to make a ton of trips to bring over everybody...but I have faith in you...;) And that's really all that matters...faith can move mountains...or in this situation...hapas...;)

Chris, too bad the range of the lil Cessna is 300 miles! We wouldn't be able to make an eighth of the trip. I already have my single-engine rating, all I need is the ATP for turbine engines.. then we're off to Hawaii in no time.

We will have a blast! We really need to get the plans into action! I think we need to all go to Asia SF. Quite the San Francisco experience. A bunch of trannies dancing around and serving delicious food. It also turns into a club after dinner hours! I would rather us all go to a bar. It seems a tiny bit more personable than a club. i'm a coffee snob so if anyone knows ANY really really good character Café or brasserie who make excellent ristrettos and machiattos - no starbucks or clone franchise "cafes" ...sorry they're not what i consider cafés - i would be ever so grateful.I could not find any when i was living in SF years ago.
I love the boutique,corner cafés - more intimate & traditional ...think more on the lines of Viennese cafés...not that i've been there but nz has a very similar scene & unfortunately i have worked in Cafés so ignorance is no longer bliss.

Hey, there is a cute little place in Sausalito that I know of. Cafe Trieste or something. I love Sausalito. Maybe day trip there and then venture into the city. We could even take a ferry over from San Francisco! I think I am starting to get some ideas here. Hmmmmm....3 months ago

Wow, if Jamie's father drove the hapa mobile I'd almost want to leave hapalicious Hawaii for a week or so to go to the Cali hapa party. LOL! Whelp, I also want to get my fill of the Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian hapas there. These are rare hapa breeds in Honolulu.

fuck! I have jury duty on nov 21st, but I guess that ends at like 5:00ish. Depending on the hrs of my new job, I may or may not be able to make it on friday! I have an intense working sched (including one weekend day!) Keep me posted! I love hapas! hehe

I have just phoned up Cafe Mum's to see if we could book 25 people for the 21st Nov, and I am happy to make a reservation but I need numbers, as I have to put a deposit down. Just to let you know, the price per person is $39.95 before tax and service so it ends up being more like $51/2 pp. We can go there at 6pm or 8.15pm. So before I make the resevation, can I get your guys thoughts on whether or not this is the place we want to go?? If people would prefer somewhere else I am happy to phone around somewhere else, but as the time draws nearer it would be advised that we book somewhere sooner rather than later because the 21st is a Friday. That being said I think $50 is quite expensive but would love to hear your ideas...
